In some ways, it feels like it was just New Year's Day. A celebration of joy, a new season in our lives, and of course Betty White's memory. Cut to - it’s now November, and the winter season is right around the corner. Within this season, there are many of us however that is still trying to find a new normal in trying times. It is important to feel safe, happy, and together with those you love during the holidays. However, not everyone can afford that luxury. So here at NBTA, we want to provide a sense of togetherness to those of us with artistic passions. Our goal is to provide fuel, clothing, and overall happiness for everyone to explore their passions.

This year, NTBA is setting up our second annual Christmas drive in order to deliver goods to families. We partnered with the Maryland Department of Social Services in order to supply toys, clothes, shoes, canned foods, non-perishable items, turkey, ham, gift cards, monetary donations, and children’s books. A major priority of our CEO/President, Starr Jackson, is giving back to communities. This fueled her drive to form NTBA and make the world a more compassionate place for all.

It is important to give back to families far and wide because no one can replace the feeling of seeing a child’s happy face on Christmas Day. There are families that can’t afford to give their children the happiness they deserve. With things the everyday person might take for granted like food, clothes, etc. I’ve personally experienced within the past year struggling to pick up essential foods, and necessities. It goes without saying that it gave me a new perspective as to younger children probably facing similar issues when they should be experiencing childhood.

That is why for this year’s Christmas drive, we need help from YOU. We need assistance with donations for families in need. We began contributions on November 14th and will continue to accept the following gifts for each family until December 19th. Each family differs in the needs and ages of the children. But don’t worry we have all the information you need to assist you to get to know these families a bit more.

Each family differs in interests, personalities, and needs. We’re here to help see that every child gets closer to the things they crave. One family has a boy age 11 who would love to have toy cars, educational items, clothes and more. Another family has two girls - ages 17 and 1. When asked, the seventeen-year-old said wanted jackets, jeans, tops, and shoes. Her younger sister wants clothes, a toddler bike, and educational items. These are a few of the examples of things we’re looking for. Any donation or contribution helps the families that were connected through the social service program immensely. The full list of items is displayed below.

For more information on how to donate please feel free to DM us through our Instagram page, or email us at nbtartsinc@gmail.com.

Please join us in making a difference and starting this Holiday season off right!
